Welcome to our family-owned business situated in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Since 2022, Derek started forging skillets in order to be able to cook in our outdoor pizza oven and has been dedicated to the hand forging of premium carbon steel cookware for you since. Our mission is to provide non-toxic alternatives to conventional cookware, suitable for both indoor kitchens and cooking in the outdoors. What is carbon steel?

Butchering was something Derek grew up doing with his family. We’ve continued this tradition over the past few years by butchering alongside friends and family. This year, Derek decided to create a skimmer and hook, which will be ready for use on ‘Butcher Day’ next year.

Our copper kitchenware looking oh so pretty against the peonies the kids picked earlier today. Copper is just too beautiful to hide in a drawer, how do you display yours?

We tweaked our copper spatula design with a slight bend at the end of the handle. The result is a nice aesthetic touch and improved handling.

We pulled one of our carbon steel skillets from our stock to cook eggs. Each of our skillets comes preseasoned and will improve with proper care over time, where foods will less likely stick.

Cream scoops will be making their debut at our first market of the year next weekend. Market prep is in full swing over here

This evening, we welcomed a special visitor to our little shop. A customer had reached out to us, asking if her husband's uncle could tour our workshop as a little birthday present, as he's fascinated by our skillet-making process. It was so nice to show them around. He was a metal worker by trade, and he still works in his own shop at 91. Interestingly, his brother lives just up the hill, and we're looking forward to visiting his shop soon. His Neice also gave him one of our hats as a little birthday present

Hi folks! Happy new year with a new design to some of our skillets. Our 13” Farm Chef and 11” + 13” Roasters have gotten a new ‘helper handle’ design. Why? It is more comfortable to the hand, we also think it is more aesthetically pleasing to the eye. We also have started to switch over all rivets on our skillets to either brass or copper. We think having brass or copper gives the skillets gives a little ‘pop’, let us know what you think

We like to use a pad of fat, tallow, lard, butter when we cook our eggs and our griddle doing its thing and having eggs ‘boot scoot boogie’ across the griddle 😅

Merry Christmas from our family to yours. A few days ago Derek’s hand was badly burnt in a cooking incident, he is going to have to take off some time to recover and we are going to take that time to also spend time with family, we will probably out of the forge for week or so.
